Rediscovering the Outdoors: Nature’s Positive Impact on Families and Communities

RHS Back to Nature Garden

Davies White Ltd collaborated with HRH The Princess of Wales and the RHS in 2019 to co-design the award-winning Back to Nature Garden, first at Chelsea Flower Show, then at Hampton Court Palace and RHS Wisley. The woodland-themed space was conceived to inspire families, encourage outdoor play and reconnect generations with nature through imaginative design rooted in childhood memories.

Opened at Chelsea Flower Show 2019, the Back to Nature concept featured a stag‑horn oak–clad treehouse, swing seats, hollow log, waterfall and stream, den building structures and a reclaimed decking walkway.

After Chelsea and Hampton festivals, most materials, trees, boulders, planting, bespoke furniture were upcycled into the permanent RHS Back to Nature garden at RHS Wisley.
