PROJECTS

Riverside transformation inspired by nature, shaped by community, and rooted in heritage-led landscape design excellence.

Eagle Brewery Wharf, Kingston upon Thames

Eagle Brewery Wharf is a much-loved riverside space in Kingston town centre. In 2021, Davies White Ltd was appointed by Kingston First and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames to lead the first phase of concept design and community engagement. Working in collaboration with The Edible Bus Stop, we ran model-making workshops, walk-and-talks, and co-design sessions with local residents, businesses, students, and access groups to shape a shared vision for the future of the space.

The design brief shaped by Davies White’s early work formed the foundation for the next stage of the project, now being developed by Farrer Huxley. The transformation of Eagle Brewery Wharf is part of the borough’s wider Transform Kingston regeneration programme reinvigorating Kingston’s streets and spaces for residents, students, businesses and visitors alike..

Our landscape-led concept responded directly to community feedback, with a strong emphasis on creating a welcoming, nature-rich, and playable public realm that reconnects people to the river.

Design priorities included improved accessibility, playful planting, biodiverse habitats, and new connections to the town centre anchored in the site’s industrial and brewing heritage. We produced visual concept proposals and a full suite of engagement materials to help inform and inspire the next phase.
